“Crane motifs are used in Japanese weddings, wedding kimono and japanese wedding decoration for cranes mate for life and are devoted to their partners in all seasons. Both male and female work together to build their nest and care for their young.”
– Cranes & Japanese Weddings
For Derek's 27th birthday, Heather created and strung together 27 origami cranes. Each crane had a secret message written inside, though she can't remember what they are today.
Each invitation we sent out included some origami paper. We'd love it if you'd fold a crane and bring it with you to our wedding. One crane symbolizes our love – a whole flock symbolizes our community.
